Job Title and Overview
The Controller is a key member of the leadership team that will be responsible for managing the company’s financial health by overseeing all accounting operations, preparing financial statements and budgets, ensuring compliance with regulations and supervising the accounting team.
Essential Job Functions
· Financial Operations and Oversight:
o Manage and oversee all company accounting operations.
o Supervise all accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll systems.
o Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and prevent fraud.
o Document, monitor, and update accounting policies and procedures to align with internal standards and external requirements.
o Ensure compliance with Idaho State tax laws and prepare and file accurate and timely financial reports, tax returns, and other regulatory filings.
· Financial Reporting and Analysis:
o Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
o Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide actionable insights to executive management team and support strategic decision-making.
o Create and present financial reports, analyses, and forecasts to executive management team to inform operational and strategic initiatives.
· Planning and Forecasting:
o Lead the development and management of annual and quarterly budgets in collaboration with leadership team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
o Develop financial forecasts to predict future performance and manage cash flow effectively.
· Compliance and Risk Management:
o Ensure the company complies with financial regulations, accounting standards (such as GAAP), and State of Idaho and federal tax laws.
o Oversee the preparation for internal and external audits and manage interactions with auditors.
o Identify, assess, and manage financial risks to protect the company’s assets.
· Leadership and Strategy:
o Hire, train, and supervise the accounting team, setting the department’s operational strategy and priorities.
o Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, business growth, and financial strategy development.
· General Administrative Support:
o Assist with answering and directing phone calls in a courteous and professional manner as needed.
o Greet and assist walk-in customers with sales inquiries and purchases as needed.
o Provide general information to customers and direct them to appropriate personnel as needed.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required; CPA license preferred.
· At least five years of related work experience required, preferably in a controller position.
· A minimum of three years of previous supervision experience required.
Supervisory Responsibility

Skills
· Strong knowledge of Idaho tax regulations and payroll process.
· Experience generating financial reports and performing variance analysis.

· Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe, QuickBooks, as well as other accounting software programs.
· Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment; works well under pressure.
· Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
· Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
· Experience in agriculture, dairy or related industries a plus, but not required.
