Job Overview
Magellan Performance is seeking a passionate and motivated Soccer Trainer / Performance Coach to join our growing team. This part-time position is ideal for current coaches, former players, aspiring trainers, teachers, & college students studying sports-related fields, or individuals looking to continue their journey in youth athlete development.
The Soccer Trainer / Performance Coach will be responsible for delivering high quality team, small group, & individual training sessions while fostering a positive, challenging, & development focused environment for athletes of all ages & abilities.
At Magellan Performance, we believe that athlete development extends beyond technical skills. Our coaches play a critical role in helping athletes build confidence, resilience, discipline, & a growth mindset while developing their soccer abilities.
Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, enthusiasm for working with youth athletes, & a commitment to continuous learning & growth.

Core Responsibilities
- Lead and assist team training sessions
- Conduct small group training (2–8 athletes)
- Conduct individual private training sessions
- Implement the Magellan Training Model
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff
- Represent Magellan Performance with professionalism and integrity
- Participate in staff meetings and coach development opportunities
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all training activities
- Foster a motivating environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, & respect among athletes of different ages & backgrounds
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, or school staff to communicate athlete progress & address behavioral or developmental concerns
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of coaching experience preferred but not required
- Playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or professional level is a plus
- Strong communication & leadership skills
- Passion for youth development & mentorship
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings & weekends
- Strong skills in behavior management & creating positive learning environments for children & adolescents
- Experience working with students in childcare settings or educational environments is advantageous
