Job Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Middletown has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to perform shipping and receiving duties including processing paperwork for shipments, verifying shipping requirements, receiving material, filing paperwork and confirming shipments with customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Interfaces with various departments (i.e., Manufacturing, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Quality, Contracts)
- Utilize ERP system shipping/receiving modules to create paperwork, process shipments and receipts and transfer stock items
- Confirms shipments and prints package labeling in customer SMS portals
- Ensures proper receiving paperwork is collected and references Magellan purchase orders for inbound material
- Coordinates shipping/receiving procedures with Manufacturing Support
- Communicates with logistics providers to ship/expedite freight and schedule pick-ups
- Maintains and archives documents used and prepared for shipping and receiving
No supervisory responsibilities with this position.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- Experience working in manufacturing and/or distribution environments preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
