Registered Nurse - ER - PRN (as needed)

Position Summary:

• Provides evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Provides assistance to nursing peers as requested. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field.

Education Requirements:

• Graduate of a nursing program is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

• One (1) year experience in emergency or critical care nursing experience is strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• Current Mississippi RN licensure is required. BLS is required; ACLS and PALS certifications are required (or within 30 days of hire into the position for new certificationsprior to independent patient care assignment). TNCC is required (for new certifications, after one (1) year of emergency nursing experience)CPI certification is required (or within 90 days of hire into the position). ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification is strongly preferred.
