Key Responsibilities
- Perform field testing, observations, and sampling for soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials
- Record accurate field data and document observations using mobile or written reports
- Use tools and equipment such as nuclear density gauges, slump cones, and air meters
- Assist with setting up and breaking down field equipment at job sites
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Communicate with site personnel, contractors, and internal team members to coordinate testing and inspections
- Travel locally for field assignments; occasional early mornings, weekends, or overnights may be required depending on project needs
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds and work in outdoor environments, including heat, rain, and uneven terrain
- Dependable, organized, and able to follow detailed instructions
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Experience in construction, engineering, or materials testing environments
- Florida-recognized certifications such as:
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
- Nuclear Radiation Safety Certification
- FDOT Earthwork Level I or higher
