As an Ophthalmology Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring appointments, procedures, and surgeries run efficiently while helping provide an outstanding experience for both patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and patients for appointments
- Assist with patient handling and restraint
- Support a busy appointment schedule for a two-doctor service
- Communicate with clients and provide patient care education
- Prepare and maintain operating rooms for ophthalmic procedures
- Clean, organize, and maintain surgical and medical equipment
- Provide meticulous care and handling of delicate ophthalmic surgical instruments
- Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining department organization
- Support doctors and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records as directed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant experience required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced specialty environment
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Interest in ophthalmology and specialty veterinary medicine
