What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Madison Veterinary Hospital?
At Madison Veterinary Hospital we pride ourselves in providing exceptional care and service to our clients. We are currently seeking a new member to join our team part time. We strongly believe that veterinary medicine is a team sport, and our ideal candidate is someone who is looking to work closely within a team environment. Communication is essential in our industry, a person with the ability to navigate both client and interpersonal communication with skill and ease is our ideal candidate.
We are a seeking an individual with experience in the veterinary industry, or similar type positions. Individuals with no formal experience in Veterinary care may be considered. Some of the requirements or skills of the position may include but are not limited to:
- Greeting clients and completing the check in and check out process while providing excellent customer service.
- Managing phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication with clients, vendors, others as needed.
- Making appointments and effectively communicating between the clients and the team.
- Ability to multi-task while remaining calm and organized in a fast paced environment.
- Review, maintain, update medical records.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment and complete cleaning (including vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, etc.) throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain and manage inventory stock of supplies, equipment, and products.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners, veterinarians, and other staff members
- Ability to handle animals with care, compassion, and patience, on leash or in a carrier
- Knowledge of animal behavior and body language
- Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using veterinary software for record keeping and scheduling appointments
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
