Position Overview
This is not plug and play. We are looking for someone to build the best menu in Memphis with a focus on charcuterie, small plates, and desserts.
The Kitchen Manager & Chef is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining consistency and quality across all food offerings, and supporting the development of a clean, efficient, and professional kitchen environment.
This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who takes pride in execution, organization, and building systems that scale as the club grows.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
- Lead day-to-day kitchen service, ensuring smooth and efficient execution
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation standards across all dishes
- Manage prep, inventory, ordering, and storage systems
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety compliance
Menu Execution & Development
- Execute and help refine a focused, elevated bar/kitchen menu
- Collaborate on seasonal updates and special event menus
- Maintain simplicity and consistency while delivering high-quality offerings
Team Leadership
- Train, manage, and schedule kitchen staff as the team grows
- Set expectations for professionalism, cleanliness, and performance
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
Operational Systems
- Build and maintain efficient kitchen systems (prep lists, pars, ordering cycles)
- Control food costs, waste, and inventory levels
- Ensure readiness for inspections and adherence to all health codes
Collaboration
- Work closely with bar and front-of-house leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Support club events, tastings, and private functions as needed
Qualifications
- 3 years of kitchen experience, with leadership or supervisory responsibility preferred
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and inventory management
- Ability to work clean, organized, and efficiently under pressure
- A systems-oriented mindset with attention to detail
- Dependable, professional, and team-focused
