The Business (Store) Manager leads all aspects of boutique performance, team development, and in-store experience. This role is responsible for driving sales through strong leadership, strategic merchandising, operational excellence, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Sales Leadership
- Own daily store operations and overall boutique performance
- Analyze weekly business results (sales, KPIs, trends)
- Plan and execute weekly merchandising strategies and floor moves to drive sales
- Lead the team to meet and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals
- Coach team members to deliver outstanding service and maximize every customer interaction
- Proactively identify opportunities and resolve challenges impacting performance
Merchandising & Visual Standards
- Maintain a consistently organized, visually compelling, and brand-aligned store environment
- Oversee sales floor setups, new product launches, and seasonal merchandising
- Partner with the Assistant Manager to execute visual changes efficiently
- Ensure all opening, closing, and cleaning procedures are completed daily
Leadership & Team Development
- Train, mentor, and develop the Assistant Manager and team
- Set clear expectations and provide consistent communication and follow-up
- Lead by example in selling, service, teamwork, and operations
- Foster a positive, fun, and productive work environment
- Build strong team relationships and encourage collaboration and accountability
- Recognize successes and address opportunities for improvement constructively
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all company processes and operational standards are followed
- Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, PO accuracy, and shrink awareness
- Create schedules at least two weeks in advance to support business needs
- Partner with the Assistant Manager on staffing, onboarding, and ongoing training
- Balance operational responsibilities while prioritizing selling and customer engagement
Communication & Partnership
- Maintain clear communication with the District Manager/Owner regarding performance and opportunities
- Collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager to keep the team aligned and informed Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to the success of the business
Qualifications
- Proven retail management experience, preferably in a boutique or specialty environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze business trends and drive results
