Duties
- Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations and procedures
- Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, laboratory work, and sample collection using aseptic techniques
- Provide pet care including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring behavior to promote comfort and health
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and equipment following proper animal husbandry practices
- Help with front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and managing patient records
- Assist in performing animal catheterization, administering medications, and supporting critical care procedures as needed
- Handle various species including dogs, cats, and equines with knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to ensure proper care
Requirements
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background; familiarity with pet care is a plus
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or with veterinary technicians
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal restraint techniques, and laboratory procedures required
- Strong animal husbandry skills
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members at the front desk or during patient care
- Willingness to learn about care and gain experience is advantageous
