Duties
- Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints to provide pain relief and promote relaxation
- Assess clients' medical history, symptoms, and desired outcomes to develop personalized treatment plans
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to target specific areas of concern
- Utilize techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and acute pain management to address clients' needs
- Collaborate with chiropractors to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and treatment plans
- Educate clients on self-care techniques and exercises to enhance the benefits of massage therapy
- Adhere to professional standards and ethics in all aspects of practice
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively target specific areas of the body
- Understanding of occupational health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for both therapist and client
- Proficiency in deep tissue massage techniques to provide relief for chronic muscle tension or injury-related pain
- Experience in acute pain management to address immediate discomfort or injury symptoms
