Purpose Of Position
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Student Supports, this position will serve as a School Psychologist at the district level to allow for flexible coverage of needs in individual buildings to cover any staffing shortages (e.g., leaves, vacancies). This position will also be directed to support district-wide evaluations, including MMSD school-based, Private and Parochial, Early Childhood, or Innovative Alternative Education evaluations.
This position will have a high degree of integrity, sustain a culture of continuous improvement, and be committed to creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment while having a growth mindset to a multi-faceted operation while having a focus on creating a positive work culture.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ability to work under generally safe and comfortable conditions where exposure to environmental factors is minimal and poses little to no risk of injury. This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and may involve walking, sitting, stooping or reaching. Manual dexterity is necessary for completing general tasks while operating office equipment. This position may require being stationary for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year, including in inclement weather, spaces without air conditioning, and areas where temperatures may be uncomfortable or fluctuate rapidly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct Service
- Conduct comprehensive special education evaluations across assigned schools, including administration, scoring, and interpretation of cognitive, academic, adaptive, social, emotional, and behavioral assessments
- Complete Section 504 evaluations and support case management needs as assigned
- Provide social, emotional, and behavioral interventions aligned to student needs (e.g., support students through individual or small-group skill building, problem-solving, and progress monitoring)
- Facilitate or participate in student-level problem-solving meetings
- Lead or support data collection and analysis activities (e.g., universal SEL screening, functional behavioral assessment, violence risk assessment, suicide risk assessment)
- Help teams translate data into actionable next steps that align with multi-level systems of support (e.g., consult with educators on instruction, academic interventions, and progress monitoring)
- Engage in family-school collaboration that strengthens communication, shared understanding, and coordinated plans of support
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Contribute to Student and Staff Supports department projects and initiatives as assigned
- Serve as a member of the MMSD Restorative Critical Response Team
- Performs other duties as assigned by executive leadership or their representatives or designees.
- Attend district and school functions that support MMSD’s strategic framework, initiatives, and core values.
- Complete any and all district required training.
- Build collaborative relationships with business partners.
- Knowledge of developmental, educational, and behavioral psychology
- Knowledge of pediatric psychopathology and diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of statistics and the ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation of assessments
- Ability to lead or support IEP meetings in accordance with legal requirements, including presenting evaluation findings, guiding teams through eligibility decisions, ensuring all procedural steps are completed, and serving as evaluator and/or LEA representative
- Experience administering assessments, analyzing data, writing reports, and sharing results with teachers and families
- Skill in consultation and collaboration with families, teachers, and school-based teams
- Knowledge of diversity in development, learning, identity, language, and cultural context
- Understanding of research methods, data analysis, and program evaluation
- Knowledge of legal, ethical, and professional standards guiding school psychological practice
- Demonstrated ability to establish relationships at all levels of the organization
- Follow principles and practices that promote and advance anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Master’s degree in school psychology
- DPI certification in school psychology (License 62), license with stipulations, or equivalent provisional license
- Educational Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) or Doctoral-Level Degree (Ph.D.) in School Psychology

Working Conditions
- Work requires travel to different locations within the district and to off-site meetings.
- Position requires working evenings, nights, and some weekends.
- Certain positions within the District may allow hybrid work flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process
- School-based positions are required to be in-person unless otherwise directed by the building principal.
