Purpose of Position
Summer Semester is a learning support for students who meet criteria and will use summer learning to stay on track for graduation to become college, career, and community-ready. Summer Semester staff are hired to provide high-quality, targeted instruction for our students who need it the most beyond the regular school year.

June 22-July 31 (no school July 3)
Work Hours
7:45 - 12:45 (5 hours/day) Monday-Friday
Required Dates of Professional Learning
June 15,16,17: Professional Learning
June 18: All Summer Staff Day at your assigned site

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Successful experience working in a diverse population.
- Successful experience in collaborative planning with other professionals to develop and carry out instruction.
- Shares a commitment to excellence and equity for all students.
- Knowledge of and experience teaching Bridges Curriculum and Bridges Intervention
- Knowledge of and experience teaching a standards-based ELA curriculum
- Creates and maintains a positive and emotionally safe learning environment
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum and instruction supporting students with a range of abilities in an inclusive setting.
- Participate in regular content/grade level team meetings after instructional hours focusing on collaborative planning, reviewing student work, and data analysis.
- Administer/analyze diagnostic BOS and EOS screener to all students on your roster and document results in eduCLIMBER.
- Demonstrated ability to administer assessments, analyze, and use the data to inform targeted instruction.
- Understands unique family characteristics and finds ways to engage families as full partners in their children’s education
- Create and send a welcome letter to the families on your roster before the start of summer programming and provide weekly updates to families on their child’s progress.
- Report mid and end-of-summer progress reports to families.
- Teaching certification that covers grade level.
- LETRS trained. Completed Volume 1, Units 1-4.
