What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Coding Specialist-Remote-(FT) position at Madison Memorial Hospital?
This role supports multiple departments across the hospital organization, ensuring seamless collaboration and consistency in coding practices. The primary focus is to accurately capture all professional coding activities to support appropriate reimbursement. This position is responsible for coding hospital-owned professional charges with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and HCPCS/CPT coding systems
- Solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, with the ability to interpret complex clinical documentation and chart notes
- Experience with Cerner or other physician EMR systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Windows environments
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service
- Current certification required: CCS-P (AHIMA), CPC (AAPC), or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
- Foundational knowledge of medical coding or completion of a coding education program
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
