Registered Nurse
Job Summary: A registered nurse delivers general nursing care and procedures in the clinic setting. Performs medical acts delegated by physicians or physician assistants. Supervises and directs delegated nursing acts to LPN’s and MA’s. Registered nurses will also perform clerical, laboratory and other duties as requested by leadership. This full or part time time opportunity reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Clinic Operations, is within the Mohs Surgery specialty, and is located in Mequon WI.

- Monday - Thursday
- 7:30am-6pm
Responsibilities
- Assist with procedures and demonstrate current knowledge and skill in nursing practice to ensure safe and effective care for the patient population.
- Escort patients to exam room, complete a brief history and obtain vital signs if needed.
- Perform local anesthesia prior to skin procedures.
- Assist Mohs surgeon with skin procedures/surgeries such as biopsies and skin cancer removals.
- Stays current on electronic health records (EHR) changes and ensures appropriate and effective documentation in patient records.
- Keeps up with the flow of operational needs to ensure the best and timely care for patients – manages phone calls and messages efficiently, checks EHR and email regularly, handles prior authorizations and refills, and effectively triages phone calls.
- Organize and prepare exam rooms for patient care.
- Provide patient education and counsel patients regarding their diagnosis and treatment.
- Manage incoming phone calls, prior authorizations, medication refills and communicate biopsy and test results to patients.
- Able to assess patients over the phone to determine plans of care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, employees, physicians and the public to promote a professional health care environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications & Characteristics
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR licensing required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible in learning and handling a variety of duties.
- Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
- Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment
- Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
