Description:

The Supply Chain Director oversees the end-to-end material flow, including procurement of raw metals (aluminum), inventory management of tooling/consumables, production planning, and customer shipping. They are responsible for reducing material costs, managing supplier relationships, improving operational efficiency (Lean/Six Sigma), and ensuring on-time delivery.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for raw materials (ingots, alloys) and specialized die-casting tools, negotiating contracts to optimize material costs and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Inventory & Materials Management: Optimize inventory levels (raw, WIP, finished goods), oversee vendor-managed inventory, and utilize supply chain techniques to balance working capital with production demands.
  • Production Planning & Logistics: Oversee production scheduling to align with customer demand (SIOP - Sales Inventory and Operations Planning), ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce bottlenecks, waste, and costs in the casting process .
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all incoming materials meet technical specifications and that the supply chain complies with industry quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor procurement, logistics, and planning teams, developing talent and setting performance KPIs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Heavy Manufacturing Environment. MKC houses different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to noisy. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to regularly walk throughout all the manufacturing facilities.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 years of managerial experience in supply chain, preferably in manufacturing (die casting, foundry, or automotive preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, demand forecasting, inventory analysis, and logistics.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
