In addition, this position also assists with washing and finishing functions of the Laundry Department as assigned, including but not limited to collecting and laundering all washables, and distributing it back to all departments that required it.

Duties / Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Inspects and cleans patients’ rooms, performing general cleaning duties, such as: picking up and emptying trash, wiping bed frames and mattresses, wiping tables, counters, and mirrors, straightening furniture, etc. to promote a clean environment.
- Dusts and wet mops floors daily to maintain a clean environment.
- Cleans designated office areas, emptying and disposing trash.
- Cleans restrooms on a daily basis using disinfectants and chemicals as necessary to promote infection control.
- Cleans carpets by vacuuming and spot cleaning daily. Weekly cleaning of hard surfaces and carpets using appropriate equipment.
- Cleans units upon patient discharge.
- Cleans and disinfects the operating room using appropriate gowning and cleaning procedures.
- Replenishes supplies in supply rooms, housekeeping closets, housekeeping carts, and bathrooms to maintain adequate supplies for staff.
- Washes windows as needed to promote a pleasant appearance.
- Collects trash from all areas.
- Performs deep and pull out cleaning each month, such as cleaning blinds, washing walls, and cleaning everything from the ceiling to the floor.
- Follows infection control procedures in the performance of daily tasks.
- Maintains detailed cleaning records of all areas of the department.
- Performs other housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Checks floor linen supplies and lists linen usage by department.
- Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks in carts for distribution.
- Delivers linens to user departments according to pre-established levels and schedules; distributes emergency supplies as needed.
- Keeps records of linen distribution by department.
- Takes supply requests and delivers them.
- Keeps linen room neat and orderly; cleans delivery equipment and assists with other cleaning duties.
- Collects soiled laundry from various areas of the hospital and delivers to soiled linen area of laundry; sorts linens into separate loads.
- Loads and unloads washing machine and dryers.
- Stocks and delivers linens to user departments or storeroom.
- Keeps all linen storage area organized and clean.
- Performs other laundry duties as assigned.
- No experience required
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be willing and physical able to perform tasks continuously.
- Employees are required to be flexible and must be willing to flex up to pick up additional hours when needed as directed by the housekeeping supervisor or Environmental Services Director.
