Job Description: Junior High Instructional Aide
A Junior High Instructional Aide assists classroom teachers in creating a positive and productive learning environment. The aide works with individual students and small groups, reinforces instructional concepts, monitors student behavior, and helps prepare classroom materials. This position may support general education, special education, or intervention programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities.
- Work one-on-one or with small groups to reinforce lessons and improve student understanding.
- Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and organizational needs.
- Help supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, and during school activities.
- Prepare instructional materials, organize classroom supplies, and maintain learning spaces.
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the teacher.
- Assist with technology and learning tools used in the classroom.
- Support students with accommodations outlined in IEPs or Section 504 plans, when applicable.
- Encourage positive behavior and help maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administrator.
