What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Relationship Manager – Trade Finance position at Madison-Davis, LLC?
Title: Senior Relationship Manager – Trade Finance
Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY (Midtown East)
Base Salary: $200,000 – $250,000 (commensurate with experience)
Overview:
A globally connected international banking platform with a deep footprint across emerging markets is seeking a senior, front-office Relationship Manager to join its New York team. This is a high-impact, business development-driven role targeting mid-to-large corporate clients across North America with cross-border financing needs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and is energized by the challenge of building a client franchise entirely from the ground up, independently sourcing and converting prospects through their own market presence, industry relationships, and deal-making instincts, rather than relying on an existing institutional client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, pursue, and convert new corporate client relationships with a primary focus on bilateral lending opportunities, sourcing prospects independently through external networks and market channels.
- Drive consistent new business generation, targeting 3 to 4 new client mandates annually to fuel sustainable revenue growth for the platform.
- Structure and execute corporate lending transactions typically ranging from $20MM to $75MM, demonstrating strong credit and structuring judgment throughout.
- Leverage syndicated and club deal participation strategically as a relationship entry point, with a clear path to converting those participants into bilateral mandates over time.
- Cultivate deep, advisory-level client relationships through consistent and proactive engagement that goes well beyond annual reviews.
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio, balancing active business development with disciplined risk oversight.
- Conduct thorough client analysis encompassing creditworthiness, financial performance, and transaction structuring across a range of sectors and geographies.
- Collaborate closely with internal credit, operations, and legal teams to ensure seamless deal execution from origination through close.
- Maintain full adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements, including KYC, AML, and internal risk frameworks.
- Stay at the forefront of market trends, industry developments, and cross-border financing dynamics to deliver differentiated insight and value to clients.
