Overview
A nationally recognized public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Director, Family Office Services to join its growing practice. This leadership role serves as a trusted advisor to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices, trusts, and closely held businesses by delivering comprehensive accounting, financial reporting, advisory, and business management solutions.
The Director will oversee complex client relationships, lead multidisciplinary engagement teams, and provide strategic guidance across accounting, family office operations, wealth planning, and financial reporting. This individual will also play a key role in developing talent, expanding client relationships, and driving the continued growth of the Family Office Services practice.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of family office clients.
- Provide strategic guidance on complex accounting, financial, operational, and family office matters.
- Oversee the delivery of accounting, tax, advisory, trust, estate, and wealth planning services.
- Coordinate with attorneys, investment advisors, trustees, bankers, and other external professionals.
- Oversee family office accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and bill payment processes.
- Review consolidated financial statements and reporting packages for trusts, partnerships, and investment entities.
- Monitor liquidity needs and support investment administration activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop managers, senior associates, and staff.
- Manage engagement staffing, client deliverables, and quality control.
- Drive business development initiatives by expanding existing client relationships and cultivating new business.
- Participate in networking events, client presentations, and proposal development.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards while staying current on industry trends and regulatory developments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA, EA, or JD required.
- 12 years of experience in public accounting, advisory, or family office services.
- Experience serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, partnership accounting, and fund management company structures.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, and family office accounting platforms.
- Tax experience or exposure preferred.
- Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.
- Established network within the New York market and family office community preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, project management, and executive presence.
Salary : $200,000 - $350,000
