Job Description
The Health Information and Credentialing Manager is responsible for supervising and directing HIM staff in maintaining complete and accurate records on everypatient that presents to Madison County Memorial Hospital.
The Health Information and Credentialing Manager is responsible for attending the medical staff meetings, preparing agenda,and taking minutes, and distributing minutes to the Medical Staff.
The Health Information and Credentialing Manager is responsible and accountable for the medical staff credentialing program.
Qualifications
1. AHIMA credential of Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) a 4-year degree or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) a 2-year degree preferred.
2. Certified Coder Credential preferred.
3. 1-3 years of working/internship in Health Information Management field required.
4. High School Diploma
5. NAMSS Credentialing School “Hospital Basics” preferred
6. 1 years’ experience assisting a Hospital Medical Staff team preferred.
7. One year experience/practicum in a hospital/nursing home/home health setting required.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
9. Must be a self-starter with initiative and problem-solving abilities.
10. Excellent Communication Skills: written and verbal, organizational, analytical, grammar, and coding skills, Interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization including physicians, administration, senior managers and other supervisors as necessary.
