Position Summary
Madison Health is currently looking for PRN Night Shift Security Officers.
Provides armed direct and indirect interventions and patrols in a healthcare setting. Communicates with co-workers, organizational leaders, community liaisons as appropriate to develop an awareness of crime and other safety concerns for the organizations. Participates in active patrol of the hospital grounds. Rapidly responds to emergencies that may include fire, medical, safety, security concerns and assists in mitigating and resolving the encounters through preventative patrol, investigation, and complaint resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Routinely patrols all areas of the hospital facility (on foot or with appropriate vehicle) and communicates any noticed discrepancies to the affected or responsible persons. Fluent with the floor plan and critical pathways within the facility in order to provide directional assistance to guests and quickly respond to areas during an emergency situation.
- Engages in confrontations, when necessary, and interacts with empathy and assertiveness. When required, performs physical intervention using the minimum amount of force necessary to take control of a situation where the safety of others is at risk.
- Conducts initial investigations and reports on significant incidents occurring at the hospital or on hospital grounds.
- Serves as a primary responder for the hospital hazardous materials decontamination team, and successfully performs and demonstrates skills and abilities of a competent team member.
- As a first responder to nearly all emergencies that occur at the facility, is familiar with emergency response protocol and able to appropriately assist other staff, patients, and visitors when those events occur.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years experience security or first responder experience preferred
- Licensure/Certification: Valid drivers license required. OPOTC Private Security Twenty (20) Hours Firearms Certification or Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Certificate required
