Summary of Position
Seasonal help is responsible for assisting the full-time Highway Engineers and staff with engineering projects and field work.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with surveying work on construction projects.
- Assist with material inspection on construction projects.
- Assist with quantity documentation on construction projects.
- Assist with plan design.
- Flag traffic
- Perform other day to day tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent, two (2) years driving experience, a valid driver’s license, and actively pursuing a Civil Engineering degree are required.
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to and may be required to: Stand for extended periods of time. Walk or move on uneven, loose and/or sloped terrain possibly for extended periods of time. Safely climb steps, ladders or slopes while carrying up to 40 pounds. Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds. See and hear and respond quickly to hazards. Speak to alert others of hazards and communicate instructions. Work in extreme weather. Wear PPE correctly most of the day. Drive a passenger vehicle.
