What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Preschool Aide position at Madison Area Educational Special Services Unit?
1. Make preparations for classroom activities as directed by a licensed teacher
2. Work individually or with small groups of students to reinforce instruction
3. Supervise testing and make-up work under the direction of the teacher
4. Guide independent study, enrichment work and remedial work as established by the teacher
5. Assist with technology in the classroom
6. Assist in drill work, reading, and story telling
7. Maintain the same ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of certified staff
8. Participate in in-service training programs as assigned
9. Attend to self-help needs of students which may include:
Changing diapers;
Lifting students to and from toilets;
Taking part in toilet training activities;
Feeding students as appropriate;
Teaching students proper use of eating utensils;
Attending to dressing as it relates to toileting;
Assisting in putting on and taking off coats, gloves, etc.
10. Supervise students during bus loading and unloading, playground, cafeteria, and other activity-oriented programs
11. The Madison Area Educational Special Services Unit views this as an expanding role. Unit needs, situations, and personnel changes
may result in revision of these duties.
