Role and Responsibilities
The primary mission here at Madera Golf & Country Club is to provide outstanding service to the members and guests of our course. The primary responsibility of the Clubhouse Staff is to work closely with food and beverage staff to ensure the best possible experience for our members and guests.
The primary duties are as follows:
Guest Service
- Provide prompt, friendly, and attentive service to all members and guests
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver in a timely manner
- Create a welcoming and professional atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience
- Anticipate guest needs and respond efficiently to requests or concerns
Bartending Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and standards
- Verify age requirements and ensure responsible alcohol service at all times
- Maintain full knowledge of drink menus, specials, and promotions
- Monitor guest consumption and address any issues related to over-service
Food Service
- Deliver food orders with accuracy and proper presentation
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding orders, timing, and special requests
- Ensure tables are properly set, cleared, and reset in a timely manner
Operations & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar, service areas, and dining spaces
- Perform opening and closing duties, including stocking, cleaning, and cash handling
- Ensure all side work is completed prior to shift end (trash removal, restocking, wiping surfaces, etc.)
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Cash Handling & Compliance
- Accurately process payments (cash, credit card, member accounts)
- Maintain proper tabs and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly
- Adhere to all company policies, alcohol regulations, and local/state laws
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth operations
- Assist team members as needed during busy periods
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any issues or guest concerns
Qualifications and Education Requirements
We strive to hire the best candidates to ensure we provide the best service to our members and guests. As a result, we are looking for clubhouse employees that can provide the following:
- MUST HAVE BARTENDING EXPERIENCE
- Must have an active food handlers license and Alcohol Server Certification
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (serving alcohol)
· Knowledge of various clubhouse procedures – fine dining experience – member relation experience – golf course knowledge is a plus!
· Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
· Ability to work in a team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
· Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
· Ability to bend, climb, balance, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl without hinderance
· Maintains a professional appearance appropriate to position
