Position Summary:
Using independent judgment, the Staffing Coordinator is responsible to provide staffing and other support as necessary hospital-wide. The Staffing Coordinator must possess good organization and advanced word processing skills. The Staffing Coordinator must have a pleasant personality with the ability to establish good working relationships with varying personalities (co-workers and the public). This position does not provide direct patient care. The primary purpose of this role is to allow the Chief Nursing Officer, Acute Nursing Manager, to appropriately staff, supervise, and administer the clinical functions of the hospital. This position is responsible to put together the four week schedule for nursing and other assigned departments following scheduling guidelines and local practices for approval by Nurse Manager. In addition, this position is responsible to forecast staffing needs so that emergencies in staffing are avoided and the hospital can provide safe care for all admissions. This position also reconciles the nursing time and attendance/payroll and works with the Nurse Manager regarding any time and attendance schedule discrepancies. This position also maintains accurate time and attendance logs for clinical staff and disciplinary forms for the Nurse Manager according to policy. This position, to be effective must have a person with exceptional intrapersonal skills. Detailed knowledge of staff preferences and work availability are essential.
Qualifications:
Prefer High School Graduate or GED.
Must posses excellent telephone, communication, and people skills. Must be able to prioritize, organize, handle multiple projects, work under pressure, and complete assignments in a timely fashion under frequent and numerous deadlines.
