Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs and laboratory results.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion and management.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and care options.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols within the ICU.
- Assist in the training of new nursing staff or nursing students as required.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an ICU setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in IV insertion and management are essential.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the nursing field.
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required.
