Overview
Made in KC in Lenexa is seeking enthusiastic Part-Time Barista and Bartenders to join our vibrant café and retail environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to serve high-quality coffee and beverages while engaging with our community. Ideal candidates will have a passion for excellent customer service, food safety, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, friendly setting. Prior experience in coffee, food service, or retail is preferred but not required; we value team players eager to learn and grow with us.
Shifts: Evenings from 2:30-9:30 and weekends a must!!
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, cocktails, and other specialty drinks with precision and care
- Operate using our Square POS system
- Manage customer orders efficiently, ensuring timely service during busy hours
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in all food preparation and serving areas
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Assist customers with product selections, providing knowledgeable recommendations about our café & bar offerings
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Uphold food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere by providing excellent customer service and engaging with guests
Skills
- Barista experience is a must, bartending experience is nice to have, but we will train on that aspect of the job
- Previous experience with POS systems is highly desirable
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours
- Proven sales ability with a focus on upselling beverages and retail items
- Excellent customer service skills to create a positive experience for all guests
- Familiarity with food safety, food preparation, and serving standards is a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate transaction processing
- Knowledge of the food industry standards related to food safety, handling, and preparation
- Ability to work effectively in a café or retail environment requiring multitasking and quick thinking
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
