Switchboard Operator

Madden’s is currently seeking a part time seasonal Switchboard Operator. This position is for evening and weekend coverage.

• Maintains the shipping and receiving log, keeping an accurate account of who has delivered and received packages and mail for all incoming and outgoing items.
• Assists the marketing department with mass mailings.
• Answers and processes all incoming phone calls for the resort, keeping an updated knowledge of employees and their extensions/pagers.
• Processes all fax requests, ensuring that incoming faxes are delivered in a timely order and proper billing procedures are adhered to.
• Distributes the ground mail daily to each respective department.
• Assists the accounting department by recording the arrival of all check payments.
• Greets visitors and notifies the people they are here to see.
• Assists guests and employees with long distance and international dialing and mailing information.
• Makes photocopies or scans as requested and ensures that proper billing information is always received.
• Provides accurate information regarding the resort and all of its outlets including times of operation and the location of its facilities.
• Maintains knowledge of emergency procedures and serves as the hub for all emergency situations.
• Provides accurate directions to guests and clients of the resort.
• Maintains knowledge of special events and promotions.
• Cleans and maintains the General Office area, making sure that all necessary items are fully stocked.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Ability to deliver a high level of professional standards, with assistance from the Employee Guidelines
• Knowledge and understanding of the resort as whole.
• Must be able to answer questions regarding the resort and the Brainerd Lakes
• Should have a strong sense of multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Great sense of Judgment and decision-making skills.
• Must be able to keep a calm professional manner under stressful situations.
• Maintains a proactive “Can Do” attitude.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma/GED preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

Work is performed inside at a desk environment.

Physical Demands:

Primarily sitting for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours). occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and occasionally lift to 30 pounds.

Expected Hours of Work:

Variable work schedule with nights and weekends included.

Travel:

Less than 10% travel required.
