PARAPROFESSIONAL AIDE (Special Needs) for 2026-2027
Starting Salary: $18.49 per hour

MINIMUM SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education requirement if a high school diploma or its equivalency. Must also meet NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND standards (i.e., Associate Degree from an accredited institution of higher education or completed at least two hours of study at an institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester or 72 quarter hours as verified by college transcript from an accredited institution of higher education) or pass the Para Pro test.
Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
Demonstrated effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Demonstrated competency with state-of-the art equipment/skills, including data processing, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency of English reading proficiency.
Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to special needs children.
Appropriately deal with given medical conditions as required per the student's IEP.
Physically capable to safely and appropriately lift and manage special needs children when necessary.
