Under the direction of the nurse manager, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the care, processing and sterilization of surgical instruments, surgical power equipment, and endoscopes for the surgical services department. In addition, the technician processes patient care equipment utilized on other nursing units and redistributes as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
· At least one (1) year of experience in an acute care or outpatient facility as a nursing assistant or other similar position.
· One (1) year of experience as a sterile processing technician in an acute care hospital or outpatient surgical facility preferred.
· Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
· Must be willing to share on-call and after hours assignments.
Wages are based on prior related experience.
