Assistant Manager
Mad River Coffee Roasters is seeking an experienced, customer-focused Assistant Manager who is passionate about hospitality, leadership, and coffee.
Working closely with the Front of House Manager, you'll help lead daily operations, support staff development, and ensure every guest receives exceptional service. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching others, leading by example, and creating a positive team culture.
What You'll Do;
Deliver Outstanding Customer Service
Set the tone for hospitality by creating a welcoming environment, handling customer concerns with professionalism, and ensuring every guest leaves with a great experience.
Train & Develop Baristas
Partner with the Front of House Manager to train, coach, and certify baristas through our internal training program. You'll help reinforce:
- Coffee brewing and espresso standards
- Grinder adjustment and calibration
- Equipment care and maintenance
- Service excellence and workflow efficiency
- Customer engagement and problem-solving
Support Leadership & Operations
Serve as Manager-on-Duty in Manager’s absence, provide leadership during busy shifts, and help ensure daily operations run smoothly. Responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing procedures
- POS and cash handling
- Inventory prep and restocking
- Coffee bagging and retail presentation
- Equipment cleaning and maintenance
- Supporting company policies and standards

- Has 2 years of barista experience
- Loves delivering exceptional customer service

Job Details
Position: Full-Time Assistant Manager
Pay: $18-$21/hour tips (average $4.50 /hour)
