Overview:
The Associate Buyer, Backstage is involved in many aspects of Backstage and a collaborator with key stakeholders. Provides counsel to Directors to deliver sales, protect gross margin and keep appropriate stock level. Anticipates opportunities and issues to develop creative solutions.

- Objectively assess assortments with the customer in mind. Ensure customer value and product trends are part of merchandising decisions
- Identify white space opportunities in the off price environment and bring them to market with attention to speed and value
- Develop strong and trusting vendor relationships by focusing on win-win solutions. Skillfully exercise creativity and flexibility in approach to negotiations whether celebrating successful agreements or gracefully declining proposals.
- Identify and evaluate key brands to target for sales; position and pitch MOP to acquire new vendors
- Establish and maintain a reputation of credibility, integrity and responsiveness with all internal and external partners
Qualifications and Competencies:
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- 1-2 years direct experience
- Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
- Knowledge of MS Office suites required
