Role Description The Beauty Advisor is a full-time, on-site role located in Tysons Corner, VA. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service by greeting customers, understanding their beauty needs, and recommending appropriate skincare, cosmetics, and fragrance products. The Beauty Advisor will perform product demonstrations, assist with makeup applications, and educate customers on product features, benefits, and proper usage. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining a clean and organized beauty counter, merchandising and stocking products, processing sales transactions, and meeting or exceeding sales goals. The role also involves staying up to date on new product launches, participating in trainings, and collaborating with the store team to support overall store performance and a positive shopping environment.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and retail sales skills, with the ability to build rapport, actively listen, and provide personalized recommendations.
- Solid product knowledge in beauty and skincare, including an understanding of different skin types, concerns, and product categories.
- Foundational cosmetology skills or experience in makeup application, skincare consultation, or beauty services (formal cosmetology training or license is a plus).
- Ability to maintain an organized, visually appealing sales area and follow merchandising and inventory standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced retail setting, including standing for extended periods and working flexible schedules (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Prior experience in beauty, cosmetics, or department store retail is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in beauty or skincare is an advantage.
