Experienced surgical scheduler with prior training in how to schedule surgeries at hosptials and surgery centers. Understanding of how to schedule pre-operative physicals with primary care for pre-operative clearance. Must understand CPT coding and insurance verification and authorizations on line etc..
Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance; request authorization and pre certs needed
- Coordinate surgical procedures and appointments for patients
- Schedule surgeries, pre-operative appointments, and post-operative follow-ups
- Communicate with patients to provide information about surgical procedures and answer any questions or concerns
- Obtain necessary medical clearances and authorizations from insurance companies
- Ensure all required paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth coordination of care
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Manage patient records and update electronic medical records systems
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and phone inquiries
Skills:
- Previous experience in a dental or medical office setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with front desk operations and customer service principles
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
