Job Summary
Macula Retina Vitreous Center is a retina practice in California with offices in Torrance and Los Angeles. MRVC is looking for an Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe interested in working in a fast-paced environment where they will have the opportunity to work directly with our doctor and coordinate the daily activities of the back office by obtaining medical records, performing preliminary eye function testing, explaining to patients about medications, and assisting the patient procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform patient work-ups and diagnostic testing (OCT, VF/RNFL, ICG, and Fluorescein Angiography)
- Assist the doctor with patient procedures
- Answer patient questions and telephone inquiries, including but not limited to, attaining resolution to patient problems
- Ensure all clinic equipment is functioning properly; requests repairs and maintenance
- Maintain a smooth flow of patients
- Provide support by returning patient phone calls and managing prescription refills
Qualifications and Skills
- Superior Customer Service skills
- Excellent written, oral communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology
- Management of multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Well-organized with attention to detail
- Knowledge of clinical processes and procedures
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records
- Empathetic personality with concern for patients’ needs
- Reliable transportation and required travel
