Job Summary Are you an experienced instructional designer who loves creating engaging learning experiences but also wants a seat at the table when the strategy is being shaped? We're looking for a Senior Learning Experience Designer who brings the best of both worlds: the strategic mindset of a learning consultant and the hands-on expertise of an exceptional instructional designer. Someone who can confidently sit down with business leaders, ask thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions, uncover the real problem, and recommend solutions that make a meaningful difference. And just as importantly, someone who loves bringing those solutions to life through creative, engaging, and effective instructional design. This includes designing and developing impactful learning experiences that support employee growth, professional development, leadership development, and organizational capability. At Mountain America Credit Union, this isn't a role where you'll simply receive training requests and turn them into courses. You'll help shape the direction of learning initiatives, influence decisions, challenge assumptions constructively, and design experiences that build employee capabilities and strengthen leadership development. Job Description LOCATION Tanner Building 7167 S Center Park Drive West Jordan, UT 84084 SCHEDULE Full Time; this is a hybrid schedule with some weekly in office expectation, based on business need. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, thinks critically, connects the dots, and considers how today's learning solutions support tomorrow's organizational needs. You'll thrive in this role if you: Think like a consultant and create like a designer. You enjoy both the strategic conversations that shape learning and the hands-on work that brings it to life. Ask the questions others might not. You're comfortable exploring the why behind a request, identifying underlying performance challenges, and helping stakeholders think differently about potential solutions. Know how to influence without authority. You build credibility through thoughtful recommendations, positive pushback, and the confidence to respectfully challenge assumptions. Bring deep instructional design expertise. You have the skills and experience to develop exceptional learning experiences across multiple modalities, from initial concept through final delivery. Understand professional and leadership development. You have experience designing and developing learning solutions that support employee growth, emerging leaders, people leaders, and long-term capability development. You recognize that building organizational capability requires more than delivering information. It requires thoughtful experiences that drive growth and behavior change. See the bigger picture. You connect individual projects to broader business priorities, anticipate future needs, and look for opportunities to create sustainable, scalable solutions. Embrace innovation. You're curious about emerging technologies, including AI, and how they can improve the way we design, deliver, and evaluate learning. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field, or two additional years of equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of instructional design, learning experience design, curriculum development, talent development, organizational development, or related experience. Demonstrated experience conducting needs analyses, consulting with stakeholders, and translating business needs into effective learning solutions. Experience designing and developing learning solutions across multiple modalities, including eLearning, virtual learning, instructor-led training, microlearning, video, and performance support. Strong experience with Articulate Storyline and other eLearning authoring tools used to create interactive, SCORM-compliant learning experiences. Experience measuring learning effectiveness and using data to improve learning outcomes and business impact. Experience partnering with leaders to support employee development, professional development, leadership development, or organizational capability-building initiatives. A strong portfolio showcasing instructional design, learning strategy, and development work is required. What Makes This Opportunity Different? You'll have the opportunity to contribute to both the thinking and the doing, working on a variety of learning initiatives that range from strategic, complex projects to smaller enhancements that make a meaningful difference. One day, you might be partnering with stakeholders to uncover a performance challenge, shape a professional or leadership development initiative, or help a leader think differently about a business problem. The next, you could be building an interactive learning experience, developing a creative solution, or making thoughtful updates to existing learning materials. You'll bring ideas forward, influence learning decisions, and take ownership of your work, whether you're helping shape a new initiative or improving something already in place.
