MacroSys, LLC, is looking for a mid-to-senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team building enterprise web applications and data platforms for federal clients. The ideal candidate is a strong generalist with solid backend, database, cloud, and CI/CD fundamentals who can pick up our stack quickly and take ownership of their work with limited supervision. Depth in enterprise web development or data engineering is a plus, not a requirement.
General Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, and maintaining enterprise web applications and data pipelines/data platforms.
- Working with relational databases and deploying to AWS or Azure.
- Automating infrastructure and deployments through infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
- Owning features end to end: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support on a small team.
- Writing tested, maintainable code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting issues in production.
- Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and clients to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 4 years of hands-on professional software development experience, including:
- Backend development: Strong proficiency in at least one of Java, C#, or Python, and willingness to work in the others.
- APIs and integration: Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating with databases and external data sources.
- Frontend development: Experience with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (Angular, React, or similar).
- Database: Postgres, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Cloud: AWS or Azure.
- Source control and CI/CD: Git plus GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar.
- Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration) and working on an Agile/Scrum team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working directly with clients and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain a federal Public Trust or security clearance, if required.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Expertise in:
- Enterprise web stack: Spring Boot or ASP.NET, Hibernate/JPA or Entity Framework, and Angular or React.
- Data engineering stack: Python with Spark/PySpark and Databricks (or a similar lakehouse platform) for ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation), Docker/containers, and secure development practices for federal systems.
- Public sector or government consulting experience, especially with transportation or federal statistical data.
- Experience building LLM applications (RAG or agentic).
- Certifications in Databricks Data Engineer, Databricks Generative AI Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, and/or AWS Data Engineer.
- Active security clearance.
