What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Paint Technician position at MacQueen Equipment LLC?
Essential Duties:
- Perform vehicle body and paint repairs, including structural damage repairs, surface preparation, color matching, and final paint application.
- Replace or repair damaged components such as bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, trim, and corroded areas.
- Operate tools and equipment associated with paint and body repair in a safe and effective manner.
- Follow manufacturer-defined fleet processes and ensure work meets state, federal, and OEM compliance standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the Paint/Body Department.
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout all repair stages to ensure high workmanship standards.
- Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and collaborate with the Production Manager on job scopes and timelines.
- Lead and support team members through effective communication, on-the-job training, and coaching.
- Monitor and manage team timecards, attendance, and time-off requests.
- Attend technical training and maintain required manufacturer certifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in automotive body repair and refinishing, including knowledge of aluminum paint and primer adhesion principles.
- Strong understanding of materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle body repair, including panel replacement, structural repairs, and component alignment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and follow direction when working within a team environment.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
ADA Requirements:
- Bend, squat, climb, grasp, twist, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods.
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs frequently, or more occasionally.
- Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously.
- Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
