Lead Paint Technician

Essential Duties:

• Perform vehicle body and paint repairs, including structural damage repairs, surface preparation, color matching, and final paint application.
• Replace or repair damaged components such as bumpers, fenders, doors, hoods, trim, and corroded areas.
• Operate tools and equipment associated with paint and body repair in a safe and effective manner.
• Follow manufacturer-defined fleet processes and ensure work meets state, federal, and OEM compliance standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the Paint/Body Department.
• Conduct quality control inspections throughout all repair stages to ensure high workmanship standards.
• Prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and collaborate with the Production Manager on job scopes and timelines.
• Lead and support team members through effective communication, on-the-job training, and coaching.
• Monitor and manage team timecards, attendance, and time-off requests.
• Attend technical training and maintain required manufacturer certifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

• Proven experience in automotive body repair and refinishing, including knowledge of aluminum paint and primer adhesion principles.
• Strong understanding of materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle body repair, including panel replacement, structural repairs, and component alignment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and follow direction when working within a team environment.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written

ADA Requirements:

• Bend, squat, climb, grasp, twist, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods.
• Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs frequently, or more occasionally.
• Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously.
• Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
• Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
