Summary
Works with the Public Health Administrator/CEO, Recovery Program Development and Sustainability Manager, and Clinical Director to develop, implement, and evaluate doula support services in accordance with the goals of the Illinois RCCA START Program. Reports to the Clinical Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous emotional and physical support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
- Educate clients on childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Advocate for clients’ preferences and rights within healthcare settings.
- Assist clients in navigating healthcare systems and connecting with community resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided in compliance with MCPHD, START Program and IL RCCA guidelines.
- Participate in program meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop outreach and marketing materials specific to MCPHD Health Center programs, including the START program and doula services offered.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Doula from a recognized organization (e.g., DONA, CAPPA, or equivalent) OR in the process of obtaining Doula certification from a recognized organization.
- Ability to be mobile without any limitations or restrictions.
- Must be certified and able to perform CPR and basic life-saving techniques.
- Must be up-to-date on MCPHD required immunizations.
- Must have a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Knowledge of maternal health, trauma-informed care, substance use disorders, and cultural competency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Reliable transportation for home visits and hospital support

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
