Gen Ed Aide

The Macon R-1 School District is seeking a Middle School Student Success Gen Ed Aide for the 2025-2026 school year.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

• Assist the Student Success Coordinator with academic at-risk students.
• Will assist in the observation of  students in academic and other relevant environments to gather meaningful data.
• Supports teachers and staff in gathering data essential for implementing positive behavior initiatives and developing Student Support Plans (SSPs).
• Collaborates with school personnel to foster positive relationships, support student success, and provide mentorship, encouraging independence and personal growth.
• Assists the Behavior Intervention Team in identifying students who are at-risk or in need of academic, social/emotional, or behavioral support 
• Collaborates with the Behavior Intervention Team to develop Student Support Plans.
• Assist the Student Success Coordinator in working with students to teach and reinforce positive replacement behaviors while supporting their academic growth. Establish a firm, fair, consistent behavior management plan to create a structured and supportive learning environment. 
• Assist in facilitation of small group and individual instruction in the student success room.
• Assist in maintaining documentation of each student's progress that is shared with the Middle School and Guidance Office.
• Participates in activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school.
• Pursues professional development related to this position.
• Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.
