What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Cashier position at Macon Elementary School?
The Macon R-1 School District is seeking a Food Service Cashier for the 2026-2027 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Be able to work with students, faculty, and the general public in a diplomatic, friendly manner
- Be able to read and understand the district's Student Information System, Infinite Campus, and be able to follow verbal and written directions
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform cashier duties by collecting money for meals and lunch account payments
- Accurately charge student and staff accounts for meals and Al A Carte purchases using Infinite Campus
- Close and balance cash drawer at the end of each shift
- Ensure food service line is moving smoothly and efficiently
- Deals courteously with students, staff and visitors
- Maintains an effective working relationship with Food Service Coordinator and food service staff
- Reports on time for work and notify Principal of absences before the start of the workday
- Maintains good personal hygiene
- Uses time wisely, is organized, and works well with others
- Performs other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year to be established by the Superintendent.
