The Macon R-1 School District is looking to fill an evening custodial position for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year and beyond at our MACTEC building.
The evening custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the Career Center. This position ensures classrooms, labs, offices and common areas are cleaned and prepared for the next day's activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed
- Empty trash and recycling containers
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
- Restock restroom supplies (paper towels, soap, toilet paper)
- Maintain cleanliness of specialized lab spaces (shop areas, technical labs, etc.)
- Secure building by locking doors and checking alarms
- Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to supervisor
- Assist with event setup and cleanup when needed
- Any other duties requested by supervisor

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
