Job Function
Responsible for the development of new grants and the administration of existing grants and contracts, including compliance and grant accounting functions as assigned by the Director of Grants. Assists the department in executing initiatives that improve grant operations and activities in alignment with the department’s priorities.

Overall Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains resources to aid stakeholders in developing administering and complying with grants.
- Coordinates meetings related to grant development, administration and compliance and provides support to stakeholders.
- Maintains accurate and organized records of meeting discussions, decisions and action items, including disseminating this information to stakeholders.
- Responsible for the management and maintenance of databases and systems for recording and tracking grants and related information throughout the grant development and administration processes, including historical data and the institution’s Strategic Fund.
- Responsible for the development of the annual grant close out report for the Board of Trustees.
- Maintains current knowledge of internal data, funder requirements, grant regulations, and college policies and procedures to support the development and administration of grants.
- Supports and assists with the authorized signature process.
- Maintains current knowledge of policies, regulations, and procedures related to grants and communicates that information to promote a clear understanding throughout the college.
- Provides information on the status of grants and contracts to college administrators and staff.
- Functions as an effective member of the grant development team by making recommendations for improving internal grant management systems, policies, procedures and controls.
- Serves on college committees and teams as appropriate and requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Researches, monitors and communicates potential funding opportunities that support institutional priorities and department initiatives.
- Identifies internal and external data to support grant proposal development.
- Writes, edits and formats grant proposals.
- Works collaboratively with the grant project development teams and provides support throughout the grant development process.
- Ensures proposals are consistent with funder specifications and guidelines.
- Seeks clarification from program officers as needed throughout the proposal development process.
- Ensures proposals adhere to Macomb’s grant process and include required internal approvals.
- Prepares proposals for submission to funding sources.
- Establishes and maintains accurate project files and records.
- Researches and analyzes current global, national and local education and business trends, identifying key factors and linkages to grant development efforts.
- Maintains knowledge of internal data, including acting as the liaison with Institutional Research to develop project evaluations.
- Collects and summarizes information and writes reports documenting program progress and results for funders.
- Assists college staff and departments in developing, managing and troubleshooting grants, contracts and budgets as assigned.
- Assists with grant accounting functions as assigned including time and effort reporting, invoicing, reconciliation and budget/journal entries.
- Maintains current knowledge of funder requirements and reporting ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual submissions are completed.
- Serves as liaison with college staff and departments in developing, managing and troubleshooting grants contracts and budgets.
- Analyzes grant and contract awards and provides guidance to administrators and managers regarding requirements and guidelines as assigned.
- Coordinates the review and approval of grant and contract proposals and awards with college general counsel.
Education
Associate’s degree required. Bachelors preferred.
Qualifications
Must have two years of experience in technical writing, grant administration, compliance. Budgeting or accounting experience preferred. Evidence of formal writing or technical writing experience required as evidence by a writing sample to be presented when interviewed.
Salary : $80,788 - $96,833
