Job Function

The Macomb Success Link (MSL) Manager provides strategic and technical support in the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the centralized student impact platform for the Student Services Unit. This position plays a critical role in optimizing the college’s ability to retain students, support their ongoing success and monitor progress throughout the student life cycle by ensuring the MSL system effectively supports early alert processes, case management, counseling and academic advising, intervention delivery, referrals, appointment scheduling, proactive communications, analytics, holistic student support and the implementation/support of additional modules offered by the platform at the college’s directive. This role manages user administration, security roles, coordinates system upgrades, end user testing and identifying integration issues between systems. Collaborates closely and acts as a liaison with Academic & Workforce Education, Information Technology, Institutional Research, Financial Aid and other internal/external stakeholders. This role consults with various college departments to optimize workflows and lead comprehensive training and engagement strategies to promote consistent, college-wide adoption and effective use of the student impact system.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy & Management:


  • Collaborate with administration to develop a strategic roadmap for the platform to support student success, retention, and completion priorities of the college.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and lead for the student impact platform.
  • Provide technical support for the platform and its users.
  • Manage processes, configurations, workflows, integrations, modules and customizations to support the student life cycle within the platform.
  • Continuously research, assess, and recommend best practices that enhance the platform’s capacity to support equity-focused interventions, holistic student engagement, and proactive student support models across the student life cycle as directed.

Data & Reporting:
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security within the student impact platform.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights on program performance, faculty, staff and student engagement, and outcomes.
  • Share reports, data insights and create system documentation or procedures as directed.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with administration, student success services, student services, faculty, and other end users to assess needs and align tools with business processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and external vendors to coordinate system upgrades, module implementation and integration of platform with other enterprise systems (e.g., SIS, LMS, marketing platforms).
  • Provide initial onboarding and continuous training for promoting adoption and consistent use of student impact platform.
  • In collaboration with stakeholders, develop training programs, documentation, guides, and resources that strengthen user proficiency and ensure adherence to institutional expectations and best practices.
  • In collaboration with supervisor, lead professional development sessions and user community-of-practice meetings to keep the college informed about updates, enhancements, and emerging best practices.
  • Engage stakeholders regularly to support college-wide adoption of the platform, identifying barriers to usage and implementing solutions to drive consistent, high-quality engagement with MSL tools and features.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the student impact platform.

Platform Development & Improvement:
  • Oversee updates, testing, and release management.
  • Identify and implement new tools, apps, modules or features to improve user experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy, FERPA, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Evaluate platform enhancements and new features based on alignment with institutional priorities

Other:
  • Participates on college committees as assigned.
  • Attend workshops, conferences and meetings as directed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university is required. An associate’s degree will be accepted when accompanied by four (4 years of professional work experience related to higher education, databases, student impact platforms or CRM systems.

Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas – preferably in a higher education setting: client management systems, admissions, enrollment services, student services, student information systems, IT services or other demonstrated related experience related to the position.
