Title: Test Engineer
A test engineer assists engineers by building, testing, and maintaining equipment and systems, collecting and analyzing data, and helping to solve technical problems. Their duties include calibrating instruments, performing tests, compiling reports, and ensuring quality control in various engineering fields.
Job Description:
- Perform mechanical assembly and integration of test equipment with a high level of precision.
- Prepare materials for testing, including setup, execution, and documentation of final test procedures.
- Conduct RF testing on components and assemblies using advanced measurement equipment.
- Assemble components following engineering instructions, including soldering, wire bonding, and related fabrication tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers to support product characterization, verification, RMA analysis, and qualification testing.
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Provide clear, effective, and timely communication regarding task status, project progress, and issues encountered.
- Train, mentor, and guide junior technicians to support team skill development and workflow efficiency.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; 2 years of technical training or an AS degree preferred.
- Experience using microscopes to inspect products and ensure the highest standard of quality.
- Experience in hand soldering, manually placing small parts or components onto an electrical assembly. IPC certification a plus.
- Expertise in operating 4-Port PNA network analyzers, including the ability to instruct others on proper calibration techniques.
- Solid understanding of basic electronic theory and its practical application in test environments.
- Solid understanding of basic RF systems, VSWR, Transmission lines, coax cable losses, RF line components (filters, attenuators, loads, directional couplers).
- Knowledge in using lab instrumentation such as multimeters, SMU, and power supplies.
- Ability to document work performed, including procedures, setup diagrams, test data, and results.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- This position requires the physical ability to safely and effectively perform essential job functions, including but not limited to: clear vision (with or without corrective lenses/glasses), the ability to stand and/or move for extended periods of time, and the ability to safely use required equipment and tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to details.
- Good communication skills in English language – written and spoken.

- The Salary Range for this position is $26.00-$37.00/hour. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
