Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Photodetector Product Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the development, release, and sustaining of photodetector products across their lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure product performance, manufacturability, yield improvement, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in optoelectronic devices with a hands-on, data-driven approach to product engineering.
Job Responsibilities:
This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM’s discretion, subject to individual and company performance.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in optoelectronic devices with a hands-on, data-driven approach to product engineering.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own released photodetector products and product lines, driving continuous improvements in performance, yield, cost, and reliability.
- Support new product transitions from engineering to manufacturing, ensuring a smooth and timely ramp to production.
- Ensure all manufacturing deliverables are ready for production release, including hardware, documentation, BOMs, and product costing.
- Ensure successful and on-schedule New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Partner with Design and Test Engineering teams to define specifications and test requirements.
- Monitor, analyze, and investigate yield and performance issues across manufacturing and test processes.
- Generate and analyze SPC charts, run charts, and trend reports to drive data-based decisions.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, manufacturing teams, and external contract manufacturers to resolve production and quality issues.
- Assist with failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and reliability qualification for new and existing products.
- Strong understanding of optoelectronic devices, particularly photodetectors.
- Solid knowledge of photodetector parameters and characterization techniques.
- Working knowledge of statistics, yield analysis, and SPC methodologies.
- Proficiency with data analysis and programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, JMP and MS Excel.
- Familiarity with reliability testing and qualification standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in the optoelectronics or photonics industry, with a proven track record in product engineering.
- Proven ability to drive products from development through production and sustainment.

Salary : $84,000 - $166,000
