Electronic Design Engineer

This entry level position will work in the Product Engineering group at MACOM’s Hamilton, NJ facility. The candidate will support the development of RF on fiber transmission products and erbium doped fiber amplifiers. A design engineer will work alongside experienced engineers providing mentoring, guidance, and introductions to colleagues.

Electronic Design Engineer
Job Description:
This entry level position will work in the Product Engineering group at MACOM’s Hamilton, NJ facility. The candidate will support the development of RF on fiber transmission products and erbium doped fiber amplifiers. A design engineer will work alongside experienced engineers providing mentoring, guidance, and introductions to colleagues.
Possible Tasks Include:
- Design and simulation of electronic circuits for RF over fiber systems, subsystems, and modules, as well as for optical transceivers and optical amplifiers
- Capture schematics and work with ECAD on optimal board layouts
- Bring up circuit boards and assist with development of embedded firmware
- Provide clear reports with the collection, analysis, and summary of test data
- Design evaluation boards and test fixtures to support product design and test and measurement
- RF design and test
- Earned a B.S. in electrical/computer engineering or equivalent
- Due to ITAR regulations, only candidates who are U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status) will be considered for this position
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Prior experience with test lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers is desirable
- Experience with coding in languages such as C/C , Python, and others is desirable
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout, preferably with Altium designer, is desirable
