What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant/Sterilization Technician position at MacNeill Family Dental?
Come have fun with us! MacNeill Family Dental is looking for the perfect person to join our small dental team as a dental assistant/Sterilization Technician. We would prefer someone with dental experience but would be willing to train someone who has a great personality, communication skills and a willingness to learn. We pride ourselves in taking time with our patients, listening and doing everything we can to make their experiences positive.
We work only three days a week, Tuesdays through Thursdays. We feel that allows us to have a great work/life balance, especially for those of us who have kids. This is an average of 27 hours per week. Retirement and health insurance are offered, and paid vacation is included as well. We would love to meet you!
Sterilization Duties:
- Perform sterilization and disinfection of dental instruments and equipment
- Follow proper procedures for handling, cleaning, and packaging instruments
- Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment and supplies inventory
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the sterilization area
Dental Assistant Duties: We can teach you these things!
-Assist Doctor with patient appointments: dental exams, fillings, crown preps, restoring implants, delivering custom dental appliances for sleep apnea.
-Take xrays, dental impressions, fabricate bleach trays, retainers, etc
-Maintain organized and thorough documentation of patient appointments in their chart
-Clean dental operatory and set it up for the next patient appointment
-Basic office duties: help confirm patient appointments, organize patient charts for the next day, answer the phone if the receptionist is busy
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Sterilization Technician or Dental assistant in a dental setting is preferred
- Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental practice management systems is a plus

- High level of professionalism and integrity
