  • Track and assist in managing manuscripts through the production process.
  • Write and/or edit various copy types including flap copy, catalog copy, launch sheets, and tip sheets.
  • Support the Picador team in developing backlist campaigns and managing various backlist projects.
  • Serve as a liaison between editorial, production, design, marketing, publicity, and sales departments.
  • Initiate and manage correspondence with authors and agents throughout the publishing process.
  • Provide basic editorial support, including preparing and editing introductions, reviewing revisions with authors, and creating launch materials for reissues.
  • Read and analyze sales data.

  • Strong work ethic and initiative; energetic and creative collaboration.
  • Strong written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask, good organizational skills and attention to detail; dogged follow-up skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Ideal experience:

  • Prior publishing experience preferred but not required
  • Work in an office environment and/or a fast-paced environment
  • Work independently on projects from inception to completion
